Medium strength cleaner

if you're looking for a super strong cleaner this is not it, this did a good job at cleaning all the light dirt but for the heavy stains I had to use a different product form the site.

FAQs

What is Galene's Gentle Pool Tile Cleaner designed for?

Galene is a concentrated, alkaline, 100% acid-free cleaner formulated to remove grease, oil, wax, algae, fungi, mold, rubber, and tire marks from pool tile, natural stone, and other delicate hard surfaces. It is suitable for both periodic maintenance and heavy-duty restoration.

What surfaces is Galene safe for?

Galene is suitable for pool tile, natural stone, and other delicate hard surfaces. Because it is acid-free, it is safe for natural stone (including marble), delicate finishes, and acid-sensitive materials that would be damaged by stronger acidic pool cleaners.

When should I use Galene instead of Oceanus' Acidic Pool Tile Cleaner?

Use Galene for delicate or natural stone surfaces (where acid would etch the material), for routine maintenance, and for organic contaminants such as algae, mold, grease, and rubber marks. Use Oceanus' Acidic Pool Tile Cleaner for inorganic mineral buildup such as calcium scale and limescale on acid-resistant pool tile. When in doubt, start with Galene — it is the safer option for sensitive surfaces.

How do I dilute Galene for different cleaning jobs?

Galene is a concentrate. For general cleaning, use undiluted or dilute 1:1 to 1:4 for tough stains. For grout residue removal on acid-sensitive materials after installation, dilute 1:1 to 1:3. For wax or sealer stripping treatments, dilute 1:1. For regular maintenance and routine cleaning, dilute
up to 1:9.

How do I apply Galene?

Remove dust and debris with a broom or vacuum, protect surfaces not intended for treatment, and wet the surface with water to prepare it. Apply the diluted solution evenly with a mop, sponge, spray bottle, or single-disc machine. Scrub with a non-abrasive white sponge and let the solution sit for 15-20 minutes, scrubbing occasionally and keeping the surface wet by adding more solution or water as needed. After dwell, add clean water and scrub with a melamine sponge. Rinse thoroughly with clean water, use a wet vacuum to remove excess water, and let the surface dry fully. Repeat if necessary.

What is the container size?

Galene is supplied in a 32 fl oz (950 mL) bottle. Because Galene is a concentrate diluted with water (undiluted up to 1:9 depending on the job), the actual usable solution volume is substantially larger.

Do I need to reseal my tile after cleaning with Galene?

Yes. Galene is a deep cleaner, and the cleaning process can affect or remove existing sealer, so the surface should be resealed after use. For cement tile and natural stone — including marble, limestone, and travertine — follow Galene with Zeus' Tile Sealer (and Poseidon's Tile Primer first if the surface has never been primed). For terracotta, follow with Demeter's Terracotta Primer and Zeus' Tile Sealer.

Does Galene provide long-term protection?

No. Galene is designed for cleaning and residue removal, not long-term protection. For best results, use it regularly for maintenance and promptly clean spills to preserve surface quality.

What safety precautions should I take when using Galene?

Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area, ideally with local aspiration. Wear protective gloves, eye protection, and face protection; use a respirator if ventilation is limited. Keep Galene away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames, and other ignition sources, and use non-
sparking tools. Wash hands and face thoroughly after handling, and always review the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use.

How do I clean my tools and store leftover product?

Clean all tools with water immediately after use. Store Galene in its original sealed container in a cool, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight, heat sources, open flames, sparks, and other ignition points.
